LEDLightbar.com.au - LED Lightbar Reviews
So we review LED lightbars. If you're reading this it's probably because you're looking at buying one and wanted to check out some reviews, and you're probably wondering just what it is we review and how that's going to help you. Those are good questions, and we're happy to answer them for you.
When we review an LED lightbar we look at it from several angles. We're interested in the same things you are - how it's built, what it does and whether or not it's a good choice. That means we have to look at several points:
Build Quality.
Light bars can take a bit of a beating; they're fitted to rugged vehicles that often go in rugged places, so you need something that can stand up to a rough ride. We look at the quality of materials used for the casing and lens as well as how well it's all put together and sealed.
Mounting Options.
You want to get your lights mounted without causing any unnecessary damage to your vehicle. At the same time you want them to be easy to install and once they're in place it's important that they stay there. We examine the mounts to see how well they meet all those specifications.
Performance.
The point of a light bar is to give you some extra light when you need it, so we pay a lot of attention to how well they do that. Brightness, light coverage and reliability all get examined. We also check that they meet Australian legal requirements.
Value for Money.
Good accessories aren't the cheapest, but why pay more than you need to? If we think something's great value we'll let you know. If we think it's not worth the price we'll let you know that, too.
Of course if you have any more questions about how we review just ask our support team.
Cosmoblaze CREE LED Light Bar Review 23 Jul 2014 While Cosmoblaze is relatively new in the LED lights arena, I am quite confident to say that it can hold a candle to some of the most popular and well established brands of LED lighting devices today such as Rigid Industries, VisionX, Roo Systems, and Baja Designs among others. |
ARB Intensity LED Driving Light Review 5 Sep 2013 We’re obviously a big fan of LED lightbars (look at the name of the site) but we like other types of lighting, too. As 4wd enthusiasts we have a serious interest in anything that makes it easier to drive offroad, so a decent set of driving lights is always going to attract our attention. We’ve just been looking at the ARB Intensity series. These are high quality units, designed and made in Australia and ideal for anyone who’s looking to upgrade their vehicle with some decent lamps. |
VisionX Xmitter Lightbar Review 29 Aug 2013 Nothing beats a good lightbar when you’re finding your way across rough ground in a 4wd or trying to get some work done in front of your Ute. There’s a huge range available, with LED technology quickly moving to dominate the market, and that means there’s no shortage of designs that offer something a bit different. We’ve already looked at the Reflex series of bars by VisionX, which we really liked, but among the other lights VisionX offer are the Xmitter range and we decided they were interesting too. |
Baja OnX LED Lightbar Review 29 Aug 2013 There’s no better way to add some extra lighting to your 4wd vehicle than a good quality lightbar, and the growth of LED technology has made these better than ever. Now manufacturers are taking advantage of what LEDs can do to add new features, making lightbars even more versatile. We just took a look at the OnX range from Baja Designs, which is a great example of what can be done with a little imagination and some outstanding design. |
VisionX Reflex LED Lightbar Review 29 Aug 2013 We’re seeing more and more variety in the design of LED lightbars, with some really innovative models appearing. One that caught our attention was the Reflex series by VisionX. VisionX are an Australian lighting specialist who source and supply a wide range of high performance systems, and the Reflex is their latest offering in the lightbar department. |
Baja Designs Stealth Lightbar Review 29 Aug 2013 LED lighting has brought big changes in the design of lightbars for 4wd vehicles, and the Baja Stealth series have taken full advantage of the technology. California-based Baja Designs didn’t just take an existing lightbar design and jam some LEDs in; it looks like they’ve had a serious think about what’s possible and come up with a completely new design. |
Roo Systems LED Light Bar Review 29 Aug 2013 Roo Systems is an Australian 4wd specialist that started out 15 years ago making custom exhaust systems and chips for off road vehicles. Since then they’ve developed a wide range of 4wd accessories, which are known for good quality at an affordable price. This range now includes LED lightbars, which is where we get interested. Roo Systems have six bars available right now, with sizes starting at six inches and going up to a big 50 inch bar. The intermediate sizes are 6, 12, 22 and 40 inches. |
Narva Senator Work Light Review 13 Aug 2013 A good work light is an essential bit of gear for any 4wd enthusiast, and we’re always keen to check out what manufacturers are making available. The increased use of LED technology has made it a lot more interesting, too. A few years ago work lights could be pretty crude, but a lot of progress has been made. We’ve come across the Narva Senator in the past, but now Narva have a new LED model that we think looks pretty good. |
Narva LED Light Bar Review 13 Aug 2013 We’ve been checking out quite a few LED lightbars recently, including some quite innovative ones. There’s always a place for something that’s simple and high quality, though, and the range of lightbars sold by Narva fit solidly in that bracket. |
Rigid Industries Dually Series Light Bar Review 7 Aug 2013 Rigid Industries are well known for their E Series lightbars and the interesting new low profile SR Series. Lightbars aren’t the only lighting option for 4wd vehicles though. Spots, extra driving lights and floods for working round your tailgate or in a ute bed are all popular accessories too. Rigid offer a few choices for anyone who’s after that type of lighting and we decided to take a look at their Dually LED lights. |
Tough LED Work Lights - Tough Toys 7 Aug 2013 If you’re a 4wd enthusiast you’ll know how useful extra lighting can be when you’re travelling off road. Lightbars are a great solution when you want some extra illumination to show you the way ahead, but sometimes they’re not the perfect solution. That’s when smaller work lights can come in handy, and we’ve just been looking at two from 4wd specialist Tough Toys. |
Rigid Industries SR-M Series Light Bar Review 7 Aug 2013 There are a lot of great lights available for 4wd vehicles, like the Tough Toys work lights and a huge choice of light bars. If you’re looking for something more compact your options are a bit restricted though. Lots of lights have a pretty rugged appearance, and that’s fine with plenty of enthusiasts. If you are looking for a smaller light without giving up performance we have some good news for you. We’ve just been checking out Rigid Industries’ SR-M range and they might be just what you’re after. |
Rigid Industries SR Series Review 7 Aug 2013 Rigid Industries are well known for their high quality lightbars, including the E Series we looked at recently. The E Series are great lights, and a lot of people are very happy to have one on their 4wd or ute. LED lighting is a rapidly advancing technology, though, and Rigid aren’t taking any chances on being left behind. We’ve just been looking at a new range from them, the SR Series. |
Rigid Industries E Series Light Bar Review 7 Aug 2013 Lightbars continue to be one of the most popular accessories for 4wd vehicles, just because they’re so useful. When you’re driving on trails or across rough ground at night a bit of extra illumination is essential, and a high-mounted lightbar is a great way to provide it. Of course they look good too; we all take a bit of pride in our vehicles, and having it properly fitted out gives it the right “go anywhere” look. Rigid Industries make a range of lightbars that perform as well as they look, and right now we’re going to take a look at their popular E Series. |
Rigid Industries M Series Light Bar Review 7 Aug 2013 Lightbars are a common accessory on 4wd vehicles and utes, but off road drivers aren’t the only people who sometimes need a bit of extra illumination. Lighting is also an essential feature on boats. Whether you need spotlights for spotting hazards in inshore waters or floods to light up your workspaces on deck, high performance lights are a must. Boars are a tough environment though, especially for electrical equipment, and a lot of standard products won’t survive for long in the conditions they’d face. You need specialist marine lights, like the M Series lightbars from Rigid Industries. |
Tough LED Lightbar Review - Tough Toys 2 Aug 2013 There's no shortage of LED lightbars on the market now, and 4wd specialist Tough Toys aren't planning on being left out. They've introduced a range of bars designed for most popular 4wd vehicles. We took a look at them to see how they perform. |
